An established retail organisation headquartered in Greater Manchester is seeking to appoint a Financial Accounting Lead. This newly created position reflects the organisation’s continued international expansion across Australasia, the Americas and Europe. The role offers the opportunity to play a key role in supporting the Financial Controller in delivering robust financial operations across an increasingly global footprint.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the preparation and delivery of accurate month and year-end financial reporting
• Assist in the coordination of the audit process, including the resolution of audit queries
• Liaise with external auditors on international tax matters, ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions
• Partner with the sales function to provide financial insight and guidance on margin management within new markets
• Work closely with procurement to support the development of financial infrastructure required for international expansion
• Maintain effective relationships with third-party stakeholders, including auditors and insurance providers
• Lead initiatives focused on the continuous improvement of financial systems, controls, and processes
• Support the transition from UK GAAP to IFRS, ensuring adherence to relevant standards and best practice

Candidate Profile:

• Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
• Experience within a retail and/or international business environment is desirable
• Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting, with exposure to IFRS advantageous
• Demonstrable experience in managing external audit processes and stakeholder relationships
• Commercially astute, with the ability to effectively partner with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities
• Adaptable and able to operate effectively within a dynamic and fast-paced environment
