ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a full-time, on-site Knowledge Manager (Legal) to take ownership of how the firm captures, organizes, and deploys its institutional knowledge from precedents, templates, research notes, practice guides and know-how to regulatory tracking and internal training, while also designing, maintaining & enhancing the firm's knowledge repositories.


This role sits at the intersection of legal practice and firm operations. You will work closely and collaborate with partners, practice heads, and associates across the firm, liaison with external service providers and your output will directly shape the quality and efficiency of legal work delivered to clients. The role involves capturing insights from matters, standardize documentation, and ensure timely updating of legal and regulatory content. The Knowledge Manager will develop and implement knowledge-sharing processes, conduct training sessions on knowledge tools, and promote best practices across the firm. Daily responsibilities also include supporting legal research initiatives, monitoring changes in laws and regulations relevant to the firm’s practice areas, and working with technology teams to optimize knowledge management systems.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • LL.B. or B.A. LL.B. from a recognized institution with prior experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or legal research environment is preferred
  • 4–6 years of post-qualification experience (PQE), of which at least 2–3 years must have been spent in active legal practice at a law firm in a transactional or advisory capacity.
  • Candidates should possess strong Knowledge Management and Knowledge Sharing skills to structure, curate, and disseminate legal content effectively.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with labour, corporate, commercial, or data protection law -candidates with cross-practice exposure will be preferred.
  • Candidates should possess exceptional written and verbal communication in English to collaborate with legal teams, conduct trainings, draft subject content, etc. The ability to write clearly for both a legal and a non-legal audience is essential.
  • Strong organizational ability and a structured, detail-oriented approach to managing information and processes.
  • Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to interpret legal developments, identify trends, and translate complex information into accessible guidance.
  • Candidates should possess effective Project Management skills to plan, implement, and monitor knowledge initiatives and process improvements.
  • Candidates should have demonstrated abilities to work independently so as to perform research & analysis, identify trends, summarize and deliver content & reports, disseminate information across the organization, and handle all assigned work & tasks
  • Collaborative disposition, strong attention to detail, with the maturity and credibility to engage effectively with senior lawyers.
  • Familiarity with legal research databases and knowledge management or document management tools is an advantage.


GOOD TO HAVE

  • Proficiency in Kannada or another South Indian language.
  • Prior exposure to knowledge management, legal publishing, and/or legal technology.
  • Experience with document management systems, AI-assisted legal research tools, or legal project management platforms.
