Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated Junior POS Support Engineer to join our support team. The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of Point of Sale (POS) systems, computer hardware, networking, Windows operating systems, and SQL. Fresh graduates with relevant technical knowledge or candidates with up to 1 year of experience are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for POS systems and business applications.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot POS terminals, printers, barcode scanners, and other peripherals.
  • Diagnose and resolve application, hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Investigate application errors, perform basic root cause analysis, and coordinate with the development team for issue resolution.
  • Execute basic SQL queries for troubleshooting, data validation, and issue analysis.
  • Monitor application performance and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Respond to support tickets and resolve incidents within defined SLAs.
  • Maintain issue logs, support documentation, and knowledge base articles.
  • Assist with software installations, upgrades, patches, and deployments.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to senior engineers or relevant teams.

Required Skills

  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, including writing simple queries and understanding database concepts.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware and peripherals.
  • Basic networking knowledge (LAN, TCP/IP, IP configuration).
  • Knowledge of application support and troubleshooting concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts, weekends, or travel if required.

Educational Qualification

  • BTech/MCA

Preferred

  • Internship or certification in Hardware, Networking, SQL, or IT Support is an added advantage.
  • Strong customer service attitude and eagerness to learn.

Experience

  • 0-1 year in IT Support, Desktop Support, POS Support, or related roles.
