Salary: ZAR 52000-68000 / month (based on experience)

Shift: (GMT+02:00) Africa/Johannesburg (SAST)

Opportunity Type: Remote

Placement Type: Full Time Contract for 12 Months(40 hrs a week/160 hrs a month)

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer WITH_REPLACED strong UI expertise to join our growing engineering team. This role will primarily focus on enhancing and modernizing the UI components of our payment applications.

While our EMV modules are already well-established, this position will concentrate on improving, maintaining, and migrating existing UI components to newer technologies to make them more scalable, performant, and user-friendly.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain UI components for payment applications
Enhance and modernize existing UI architecture
Refactor and migrate UI components to newer technologies where applicable
Improve performance, scalability, and maintainability of UI modules
Collaborate WITH_REPLACED cross-functional teams including backend, QA, and product
Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical best practices
Troubleshoot and resolve UI-related issues efficiently

Required Skills & Experience

4–5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development
Strong experience in UI development
Experience working on Android-based applications (POS experience is a plus)
Solid understanding of UI/UX principles
Experience in the payments domain preferred
Familiarity WITH_REPLACED Kotlin is a plus (Java is primary requirement)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Preferred Experience

Experience working on payment applications
Prior experience WITH_REPLACED Android POS systems
Experience modernizing legacy UI systems
