Position Overview

Investment Banking Associate (Equity Advisory) will be responsible for driving deal origination and expanding the firm’s equity advisory pipeline. This role involves identifying and engaging with high-growth companies seeking equity capital, building relationships with founders, promoters, and investors, and supporting the Equity team in generating qualified transaction opportunities.

The role requires strong networking ability, commercial acumen, and an understanding of equity fundraising, including private equity, venture capital, and growth capital transactions.

Key Responsibilities

Deal Origination & Pipeline Development

Identify and source equity fundraising opportunities across sectors including growth-stage and mid-market companies

Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential mandates for equity advisory

Generate leads through industry networks, referrals, cold outreach, and market research

Track and manage deal flow from initial outreach to mandate conversion

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

Build strong relationships with founders, promoters, CXOs, and key decision-makers

Engage with clients to understand their funding requirements, growth plans, and strategic objectives

Position Growthally Advisors’ equity advisory capabilities effectively to prospective clients

Maintain long-term relationships for repeat business and referrals

Investor Outreach & Ecosystem Building

Develop and maintain relationships with Private Equity funds, Venture Capital firms, Family Offices, and strategic investors

Map investor preferences, sector focus, and ticket sizes to align with potential opportunities

Facilitate introductions between clients and relevant investors

Pitching & Proposal Support

Lead initial pitch discussions and support conversion of leads into mandates

Collaborate with execution teams to prepare pitchbooks, teasers, and presentations

Customize proposals aligned with client requirements and market positioning

Market Intelligence & Research

Track market trends in equity fundraising, sector activity, and investor appetite

Identify emerging sectors and companies with high fundraising potential

Maintain databases of clients, investors, and transaction activity

Collaboration with Execution Team

Work closely with the Equity execution team to ensure smooth transition from deal origination to execution

Provide relevant client insights and context to support transaction success

Stay involved during key stages of the transaction lifecycle to strengthen client relationships

MIS & Reporting

Maintain accurate records of leads, meetings, and pipeline status

Prepare periodic reports on business development performance and deal pipeline

Monitor conversion ratios and identify areas for improvement

Candidate Profile

MBA (Finance/Marketing) / CA / CFA or equivalent from a reputed institution

1–5 years of experience in business development, investment banking, equity advisory, consulting, or financial services

Strong understanding of equity fundraising, private equity, and venture capital ecosystem

Excellent communication, networking, and presentation skills

Self-driven with a strong commercial mindset and ability to meet targets

Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
