Instrumentation Engineer - Greenfield Pharma Facility Build

We’re supporting a leading pharmaceutical organisation in Cincinnati on a major greenfield manufacturing facility build, and are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation Engineer to take ownership of critical instrumentation systems across the full project lifecycle.

This is a hands-on, high-impact engineering position where you’ll directly influence the design, installation, validation, and operational readiness of instrumentation systems in a new, state-of-the-art GMP manufacturing environment.

You’ll be embedded within a multidisciplinary capital projects team, working at the intersection of engineering, automation, quality, and regulatory compliance to ensure the facility is delivered to the highest industry standards.

What You’ll Be Driving

  • End-to-end design and specification of instrumentation systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing processes
  • Ownership of installation oversight, calibration strategy, and system integration across complex process environments
  • Close collaboration with automation, engineering, CQV, and external vendor teams to deliver key project milestones
  • Leadership of commissioning, qualification, and validation activities in line with FDA, GMP, and global regulatory requirements
  • Development of robust validation protocols, test scripts, and compliance documentation packages
  • Hands-on troubleshooting of instrumentation and control system performance issues during build and ramp-up phases
  • Input into system optimisation, ensuring reliability, accuracy, and long-term operational performance

Experience

  • Proven experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated manufacturing environments
  • Strong background in instrumentation system design, installation, calibration, and validation
  • Deep understanding of process control systems, sensors, and measurement technologies
  • Strong experience working to GMP, FDA, and validation lifecycle requirements (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Comfortable operating in capital project environments with multiple stakeholders and contractors

If you're an experienced Instrumentation Engineer looking to step into a high-profile capital project with real engineering ownership, we’d love to speak with you.
