Job Title: Inside Sales Representative – Robotic Welding Automation
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly driven, self-motivated Inside Sales Representative to support the growth of our robotic welding automation business. This role is focused on proactive outbound prospecting, cold outreach, and lead generation within key manufacturing industries.
The ideal candidate thrives in a high-activity sales environment, is comfortable initiating conversations with new prospects, and excels at identifying opportunities for robotic welding solutions including pre-engineered systems, large-scale automation, and offline programming software.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute high-volume outbound prospecting activities including cold calls, emails, and LinkedIn outreach
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities within target industries (e.g., heavy equipment, structural steel, OEMs, fabrication)
- Research and build targeted account lists within assigned regions or verticals
- Engage decision-makers such as Manufacturing Engineers, Welding Engineers, Operations Managers, and Plant Managers
- Schedule qualified discovery meetings and hand off opportunities to Regional Sales Managers or Account Executives
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all activities in CRM
- Collaborate with marketing and field sales teams on campaigns and lead follow-up strategies
- Develop a foundational understanding of robotic welding systems, automation solutions, and customer applications
- Track and meet or exceed KPIs including call volume, meetings set, and pipeline contribution
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in inside sales, business development, or SDR/BDR roles (industrial or technical sales preferred)
- Strong communication skills with confidence in cold outreach and objection handling
- Highly organized with strong time management and ability to manage a high volume of activities daily
- Experience using CRM platforms and sales engagement tools
- Self-starter with a competitive mindset and strong work ethic
- Ability to quickly learn technical products and communicate value propositions effectively
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to manufacturing, welding, or industrial automation environments
- Familiarity with robotic systems, welding processes, or fabrication operations
- Experience supporting capital equipment or engineered solution sales
Key Performance Metrics (KPIs)
- Daily/weekly outbound activity (calls, emails, touches)
- Number of qualified meetings scheduled
- Conversion rate from outreach to meeting
- Pipeline value generated for field sales team
- Weld lab demos scheduled

- Consistently generating high-quality meetings with qualified prospects
- Building a strong pipeline of opportunities in target industries
- Becoming a trusted first point of contact for prospective customers
- Developing into a future outside sales rep
