Job Summary

The Junior IT Hardware Technician is responsible for providing first-level IT hardware and network support across the organization. The role includes installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer systems, peripherals, network devices, and CCTV surveillance systems to ensure smooth business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, biometric devices, and other IT peripherals.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, operating system, and peripheral-related issues.
  • Install and configure Windows operating systems, drivers, and essential software applications.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and network connectivity.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot CCTV cameras, DVR/NVR systems, and related cabling.
  • Perform CCTV camera alignment, recording verification, backup, and routine preventive maintenance.
  • Assist in laying network and CCTV cables and ensure proper cable management.
  • Provide first-level technical support to end users for IT hardware and basic software issues.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory, including computers, CCTV equipment, and accessories.
  • Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs, CCTV maintenance, warranty claims, and AMC services.
  • Support data backup, antivirus installation, system updates, and IT security practices.
  • Maintain service records, asset movement logs, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with the organization's IT and information security policies.
  • Assist in IT infrastructure expansion and office/factory workstation setup.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Hardware & Networking, or a related discipline.
  • Hardware & Networking certifications (A+, N+, CCNA, or equivalent) will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • 0–2 years of experience in IT hardware support, desktop support, hardware maintenance, or CCTV installation.
  • Freshers with relevant technical training in Hardware, Networking, and CCTV systems may also apply.

Required Skills

  • Good knowledge of computer hardware assembly, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of LAN, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and network troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of CCTV camera installation, DVR/NVR configuration, IP cameras, cable routing, and fault diagnosis.
  • Familiarity with biometric attendance devices and network printers is preferred.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and customer support skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
