Job Description
Role Purpose
The IT Manager is responsible for ensuring the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of the school's technology infrastructure. The role supports teaching, learning, and school operations by managing IT systems, networks, digital platforms, and user support, while ensuring technology services meet standards and enable an exceptional learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. IT Infrastructure & Systems
- Manage the school's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, and end-user devices.
- Ensure the availability, security, and performance of all IT systems and services.
- Coordinate installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software.
2. User Support & Service Management
- Provide technical support to staff, students, and school administration for hardware, software, printers, and classroom technology.
- Resolve IT issues within agreed service levels and maintain helpdesk records.
- Conduct user training on commonly used applications and digital tools.
3. Cybersecurity & Data Management
- Implement security measures including user access management, antivirus protection, patch management, backups, and system updates.
- Support data security, privacy, and compliance with KLF IT policies.
- Monitor system health and ensure business continuity through regular backups and recovery procedures.
4. Digital Learning & Classroom Technology
- Support technology-enabled teaching and learning, including smart classrooms, audiovisual systems, learning platforms, and digital assessments.
- Coordinate implementation of new educational technologies in collaboration with academic teams.
- Ensure classroom technology remains functional and ready for daily use.
5. Asset Management & Technology Projects
- Maintain inventory of IT assets, software licences, and technology resources.
- Support procurement, installation, and lifecycle management of IT equipment in coordination with the Corporate IT and Operations teams.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance school operations and learning.
6. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain documentation of IT infrastructure, systems, processes, and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with KLF technology standards, cybersecurity guidelines, and software licensing requirements.
- Prepare periodic reports on system performance, IT assets, and support metrics.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Applications, Computer Science, or a related field (BCA/MCA/B.Tech preferred).
- 5–8 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or technical support, preferably in a school or educational institution.
- Experience managing networks, Microsoft 365/Google Workspace, Wi-Fi infrastructure, AV systems, and end-user support.
