Role Description The Independent Textile Merchandiser (Commission Based) role is an on-site position located in the Greater Delhi Area, focused on developing and managing sales channels for Rural Weavers’ cotton Ikat fabrics. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and meeting apparel brands, designers, retailers, exporters, and buying houses; presenting fabric ranges and samples; and negotiating orders on a commission-based arrangement. The role involves building and maintaining strong customer relationships, gathering market feedback on designs and pricing, and coordinating with the Rural Weavers production team to ensure accurate specifications and delivery timelines. The merchandiser will regularly visit clients, showrooms, and trade hubs, support marketing initiatives and promotional activities, and provide periodic sales and market reports to the company. Qualifications

• Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to engage professionally with clients, understand their requirements, and provide responsive support.
• Proven Sales and Retail experience, preferably in textiles, apparel, or fashion, with the ability to close orders and work effectively on a commission-based model.
• Marketing capabilities to promote cotton Ikat collections, support local outreach, and contribute to brand visibility among target customers.
• Good knowledge of textiles or fabrics (particularly cotton and handloom products) and an interest in traditional weaving and fashion trends.
• Ability to work independently, manage schedules, and travel regularly within the Greater Delhi Area to meet clients and visit marketplaces.
• Prior experience dealing with apparel brands, buying houses, exporters, or fashion designers is highly beneficial.
• Basic proficiency in using email, messaging apps, and spreadsheets for order tracking and reporting.
• Relevant educational background in textiles, fashion, business, or a related field is an advantage but not mandatory for experienced candidates.
