Primary title: Critical Care Intensivist (ICU Physician). Full-time, on-site role with 9-hour duty shifts based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality clinical leadership and direct bedside care in an adult ICU: assess, stabilise and manage critically ill patients across medical and surgical specialties.
- Lead ventilator management and tailor respiratory strategies (ARDS protocols, lung-protective ventilation) to achieve optimal oxygenation and minimize ventilator-associated complications.
- Perform and supervise invasive procedures including central venous and arterial line placement, endotracheal intubation, and bedside ultrasound-guided interventions.
- Drive sepsis and shock management—implement bundles, titrate vasopressors/inotropes, and coordinate organ support (CRRT, advanced hemodynamic monitoring).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (anesthesia, surgery, nephrology, infection control, nursing) to develop care plans, discharge criteria, and escalation pathways.
- Maintain clinical governance: document care, participate in morbidity & mortality reviews, implement ICU protocols, and mentor junior clinicians and nursing staff.
Must-Have
- MBBS with MD/DNB in Critical Care, Anaesthesiology, Pulmonology, or equivalent.
- Valid registration with the Indian Medical Council/State Medical Council.
- Proven experience managing adult critical care patients in a tertiary ICU setting.
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS required.
- Hands-on competency in mechanical ventilation, invasive haemodynamic monitoring, bedside POCUS, central/arterial line placement, and sepsis protocols.
- Experience with CRRT and familiarity with ECMO care pathways.
- Fellowship or diploma in Critical Care or equivalent advanced ICU training.
- Structured 9-hour onsite shifts promoting work–life balance and predictable rostering.
- Opportunity to work in a high-volume tertiary ICU with ongoing professional development and clinical mentorship.
- Collaborative, multidisciplinary environment focused on evidence-based critical care and quality improvement.
