Job Description

Position Summary

This leader plays a critical role in aligning HR strategy with business growth, supporting multiple clinical locations, and ensuring a consistent, compliant, and employee‑focused HR function. The Director of HR leads HR programs that strengthen clinic operations, support providers and staff, and enable organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities by Competency

Employee Relations & Workforce Support

  • Serve as the primary HR advisor to operational and clinical leaders on employee relations matters.
  • Provide guidance on performance management, disciplinary actions, coaching, and conflict resolution.
  • Investigate employee concerns and workplace complaints in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Support managers in addressing performance issues while maintaining a positive and respectful workplace.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and patient‑focused teamwork.
  • Partner with leadership to improve employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies across clinic locations.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Strategy

  • Partner with leadership to develop workforce planning strategies that support clinic growth and provider expansion.
  • Oversee recruiting strategies to attract clinical and corporate talent.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure strong pipelines for medical assistants, clinical support staff, and operational roles.
  • Support onboarding programs that ensure new employees are successfully integrated into clinic operations.
  • Implement retention strategies to reduce turnover and support long‑term workforce stability.
  • Develop leadership development and succession planning initiatives.
  • Support performance management programs that drive accountability and development.

HR Operations & Systems

  • Oversee HR operations including HRIS systems, HR reporting, and employee data management.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient HR processes including onboarding, status changes, and employee records.
  • Partner with HRIS and payroll teams to ensure data accuracy and system effectiveness.
  • Leverage HR data and analytics to support business decisions and workforce planning.
  • Support implementation and optimization of HR technology platforms.
  • Ensure consistent HR service delivery across all clinic locations.

HR Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and healthcare workforce regulations.
  • Maintain and update HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and recordkeeping practices.
  • Support audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance reporting requirements.
  • Oversee proper administration of leave programs including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other statutory requirements.
  • Educate managers on employment law and HR compliance requirements.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 7–10 years of progressive HR leadership experience.
  • Experience supporting multi‑site or multi‑location organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex employee relations matters.
  • Experience working with HRIS systems and HR technology.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong data analytics background to create HR metrics to support the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • HR certification such as SHRM‑SCP, SHRM‑CP, SPHR, or PHR.
  • Experience working in healthcare, physician practices, or multi‑site environments.
  • Experience supporting rapid organizational growth.

This role operates within a professional healthcare and corporate environment and will require periodic travel to clinic locations to support
