Who We Are
At Academy Sports + Outdoors our vision is to be the best sports + outdoors retailer in the country — but what truly sets us apart is our people. We’re a passionate, purpose-driven team that’s as committed to each other as we are to our customers.
We’ve spent over 80 years building a culture that puts people first. We believe in creating opportunities for growth, fostering meaningful connections, and supporting every Team Member’s journey. What fuels us? Our belief in the power of fun.
Here, you won’t just help customers gear up for their next adventure — you’ll launch one of your own. Whether you're starting out or leveling up, Academy is a place where fun can’t lose!
What You Will Work On
You’ll partner closely with business leaders to align HR strategies with organizational goals, driving initiatives that enhance team member engagement and performance. Your day-to-day will involve coaching leaders, analyzing workforce trends, and recommending development opportunities that strengthen talent pipelines. You’ll also lead HR projects and rollouts, ensuring compliance and consistency across multiple business units.
In this role, you’ll champion progressive HR practices and leverage data insights to influence decisions that impact the business. From onboarding new team members to advising on compensation strategies, you’ll provide solutions that balance compliance with creativity. Expect to work on initiatives that shape culture, improve processes, and deliver measurable results for both the HR function and the broader organization.
Who You Will Work With
You’ll collaborate with a dynamic network of business partners, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams to deliver HR services that make a difference. Your relationships will span talent acquisition, operations, and corporate functions, creating opportunities to influence at every level. Together, you’ll build strategies that foster positive team member relations and drive organizational success.
