Job Role: HubSpot Development Engineer

Job Description:

HubSpot API Expertise:

  1. Familiarity with HubSpot’s REST APIs for CRM, and custom objects.
  2. Ability to implement OAuth 2.0 authentication.
  3. Understanding of HubSpot’s rate limits (e.g., 100–190 requests per 10 seconds) and pagination handling.

Data Sync & Integration:

  1. Ability to design two-way or one-way sync using HubSpot Data Sync or custom APIs.
  2. Skills in ETL iPaaS platforms (Workato) for complex integrations.
  3. Understanding of field mapping, schema validation, and incremental sync strategies.
  4. Knowledge of data conflict resolution strategies for bi-directional sync.

Authentication & Security:

  1. Implement OAuth token refresh and secure storage of credentials.
  2. Apply role-based access control (RBAC) and encryption for sensitive data.
  3. Familiarity with compliance standards (GDPR, SOC 2, HIPAA).

Platform & Architecture Knowledge:

  1. HubSpot Developer Account Setup.
  2. Create sandbox environments for testing integrations.
  3. Develop & Register apps in HubSpot’s developer portal and configure scopes.

Backend System Architecture:

  1. Proficiency in languages like JavaScript (Node.js), Python, or Java for API integration.
  2. Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases for syncing customer data.
  3. Knowledge of real-time sync mechanisms (webhooks) vs. batch sync.
  4. UI Extensions.
  5. Experience with HubSpot’s UI Extensions (currently in beta) for embedded experiences.
