Position Overview
The University invites applications from highly qualified, motivated, and research-oriented candidates for the post of Professor/ HOD of LAW. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, curriculum development, and contributing to academic administration in alignment with UGC norms and university policies.
Key Responsibilities:
A) Academic Leadership
- Lead curriculum planning, development, and implementation as per UGC / BCI norms.
- Ensure effective delivery of LLB / BA-LLB / LLM programmes.
- Promote innovative teaching methodologies including case-based learning, moot courts, clinical legal education, and legal research training.
- Guide faculty in academic planning, lesson delivery, and outcome-based education.
B) Administrative Responsibilities
- Manage overall functioning of the Department of Law.
- Prepare academic calendars, workload distribution, and faculty performance reviews.
- Coordinate with university administration for NAAC, NIRF, regulatory inspections, and accreditation processes.
- Organize departmental meetings, seminars, conferences, workshops, and guest lectures.
Research & Publications:
- Lead and promote high-quality research, funded projects, consultancy, and publications in reputed journals.
- Encourage interdisciplinary research collaborations and legal clinics.
- Supervise Ph.D. scholars and postgraduate dissertations.
Student Development:
- Mentor students in academics, career planning, internships, moot courts, and legal aid activities.
- Ensure discipline, academic performance monitoring, and placement readiness.
Industry & Institutional Linkages:
- Develop collaborations with courts, law firms, NGOs, corporate legal departments, and academic institutions.
- Facilitate internships, training programmes, and placement opportunities for students.
Eligibility Criteria:
Essential Qualification
- Ph.D. in Law from a recognized university.(MANDATORY)
- Master’s Degree in Law with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade.
- Qualification as per UGC / Bar Council of India norms.
Experience:
- Minimum 10–15 years of teaching / research experience in reputed institutions.
- At least 5 years’ experience at Associate Professor level (for Professor role).
- Prior administrative experience as HOD / Dean / Academic Coordinator preferred.
Desirable Skills & Competencies
- Strong subject knowledge and pedagogical skills.
- Research orientation with interdisciplinary perspective.
- Excellent communication and academic writing skills.
- Ability to contribute to institutional development and accreditation processes.
- Commitment to academic integrity, innovation, and student-centric learning.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Proven research record with Scopus / UGC-CARE publications.
- Experience in NAAC / NIRF / accreditation processes.
