Health Safety Environment Engineer

JOB TITLE : HSE Engineer

POSITION DESCRIPTION :

The HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Engineer will support the implementation and monitoring of project-wide safety practices on a high-rise residential development project in Gurugram, India. The project includes 8 luxury apartment towers with a combined built-up area of approximately 690,000 m². Reporting to the HSE Manager, the HSE Engineer will be responsible for conducting site inspections, reviewing contractor safety documentation, and ensuring all construction activities comply with safety regulations, project standards, and best practices.

The role demands close coordination with contractors, site engineers, and safety teams to identify and mitigate hazards, enforce safety protocols, and contribute to a culture of safety across the project.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILIITES :

• Conduct routine inspections across site zones to ensure compliance with the approved HSE plan and method statements.
• Monitor daily construction activities and identify potential hazards and unsafe practices.
• Participate in reviewing and tracking risk assessments, lifting plans, and work permits submitted by contractors.
• Support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and preparation of corrective action reports.
• Facilitate and attend toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness campaigns.
• Track and manage HSE records including safety violations, NCRs, inspection checklists, and audit results.
• Coordinate with the site team to ensure use of PPE, barricading, signage, and emergency protocols.
• Assist in preparing daily and weekly safety performance reports for the HSE Manager.
• Engage with subcontractor safety teams to ensure alignment with project safety goals.
• Support emergency response drills and maintain readiness plans in coordination with relevant stakeholders.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction site safety, including high-rise and urban developments.
• Recognized certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA are preferred.
• Good understanding of Indian labor safety regulations and international HSE standards (ISO 45001, OSHA).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with HSE monitoring tools.
• Ability to maintain clear and concise documentation and reports.
• Fluency in English is required; local language skills is mandatory.
• Willingness to work full-time at the project site in Gurugram, India.
