Role Overview
At Synedyne Systems, the Head of Program Management is not a tracking role but a leadership mandate. This role owns end-to-end program execution across New Product Development (NPD) and Series Production, acting as the single point of alignment between customers, engineering, operations, and quality.
You will define the rhythm of execution, enforce accountability, and ensure that communication, internally and externally, is always proactive, precise, and credible. Beyond execution, you will build and scale a high-performing PMO team capable of delivering consistent program excellence.
This role directly impacts customer trust, execution predictability, and business growth. You are not just managing programs, you are building the system, team, and discipline that defines how the company delivers.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end program lifecycle (Concept → SOP → Series Production)
- Drive program planning, tracking, and recovery with strong governance
- Lead all customer communications (NPD + supply) with zero-surprise mindset
- Ensure strong cross-functional alignment (Engineering, Quality, SCM, Manufacturing)
- Drive risk identification, mitigation, and escalation closure
- Lead change management (ECR/ECO) with customer and internal alignment
- Implement structured program management practices using tools like Jira
- Align demand forecasts, Capex, procurement, and execution plans
- Drive vendor performance through structured milestone reviews
PMO Team Leadership & Capability Building (Critical)
- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing PMO team
- Define clear operating frameworks, templates, and governance cadence
- Coach team on program structuring, risk management, and communication
- Establish strong review mechanisms and performance accountability
- Drive a culture of ownership, clarity, and proactive communication
- Transform PMO from a reporting function into a decision-making engine
Success Metrics / KPIs (What You Will Be Measured On)

Program Execution Excellence
- ≥ 95% milestone adherence across NPD and series programs
- Reduction in program delays and recovery cycle time
- On-time SOP (Start of Production) achievement
Customer Confidence & Communication
- Zero “surprise” escalations from customers
- Measurable improvement in customer satisfaction / feedback
- Timely and structured communication of risks and recovery plans
Risk & Issue Management
- Early risk identification (before impact stage)
- % of risks with defined mitigation and ownership
- Closure cycle time for critical issues
PMO Maturity & Process Discipline
- Standardization of program governance across all projects
- Adoption and effective usage of tools, dashboards, and reporting systems
- Reduction in ad-hoc / reactive firefighting
Team Capability & Performance
- Improvement in PMO team competency (planning, communication, ownership)
- Strong performance review outcomes across team members
- Creation of second-line leadership within PMO
Business Impact
- Improved forecast accuracy and execution alignment
- Cost adherence vs program targets
- Smooth NPD → Series transition without disruption
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology MBA / MTech / MS preferred
- PMP / PgMP preferred
Experience
- 8–20 years in automotive program/project management
- Strong exposure to NPD, ODM/OEM environments
- Proven experience in building or transforming PMO teams
