Head of Procurement

A leading multinational organisation in the polymer trading and sourcing sector is seeking a highly skilled Chief Manager – Procurement to oversee global supplier management, strategic sourcing, and end-to-end procurement operations. This is a senior leadership role ideally suited for an experienced professional with deep expertise in polymers, international sourcing, and supplier negotiations.

The organisation specialises in sourcing and supplying high-quality polymer products to global markets. The Chief Manager – Procurement will play a pivotal role in managing supplier relationships, driving commercial negotiations, and ensuring consistent supply performance aligned with customer and market needs.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong technical knowledge of polymers, excellent commercial acumen, and a track record of leading procurement teams in a global environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the procurement of assigned polymer products from international suppliers.
• Lead supplier identification, selection, negotiation, and relationship management.
• Provide market intelligence to suppliers and internal stakeholders for strategic decision-making.
• Resolve customer complaints and ensure effective service recovery.
• Maintain supplier databases, prepare supplier visit reports, and explore opportunities for new product development.
• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of procurement executives.
• Manage quality-related issues including shipment delays, shortages, and supplier disputes.
• Track supplier delivery performance and ensure adherence to purchase orders.
• Maintain purchasing files, records, and price lists accurately.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Polymers or Chemical Engineering (ideal).
• MBA/PG qualification in Supply Chain or a related field (advantageous).
• 13–15 years’ experience in procurement and supplier management.
• Experience in trading, or a combination of trading and manufacturing, is essential.
• Direct experience sourcing polymers such as PP, PE, and PVC is essential.
• Strong exposure to international markets and global sourcing operations.
• Proven ability to negotiate with global suppliers and manage complex, cross-border supply chains.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing procurement teams.
