We have also modernized our e-commerce operations with a revamped website and app to better serve our customers.


Role Description

The Head of Ecommerce will spearhead and optimize The Organic World’s online retail operations, with a focus on driving growth, user engagement, and seamless digital customer experiences. This full-time position, based onsite in Bengaluru, includes responsibilities such as developing e-commerce strategies, overseeing marketing campaigns, analyzing sales and user trends, managing web performance metrics, and collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and success. The role also involves leading cross-functional project teams and implementing best practices for technological and operational excellence.


The Head of E‑Commerce will own and drive the end‑to‑end online business for The Organic World, with a strong focus on Shopify platform management, sales generation, customer acquisition, and profitability. The role will be responsible for scaling the brand’s digital presence, increasing online revenue, and delivering a best‑in‑class customer experience aligned with the values of organic and sustainable living.

Key ResponsibilitiesE‑Commerce Strategy & Growth
  • Define and execute the overall e‑commerce strategy to drive revenue, market share, and profitability.
  • Own complete P&L responsibility for the online business.
  • Identify growth opportunities across D2C, subscriptions, marketplaces, and new digital channels.
Shopify Platform Management
  • Lead end‑to‑end management of the Shopify website, including UX/UI optimization, performance, and feature enhancements.
  • Work closely with developers, designers, and agencies to manage upgrades, integrations, and customizations.
  • Ensure website stability, speed, and conversion optimization best practices.
Sales & Revenue Generation
  • Drive online sales growth through performance marketing, SEO, CRO, email, and retention strategies.
  • Build and execute promotional calendars, offers, and campaigns to maximize GMV and conversion.
  • Analyze sales data, traffic, and customer behavior to optimize funnel performance.
Digital Marketing & Customer Acquisition
  • Own paid media strategy (Google, Meta, marketplaces, affiliates).
  • Collaborate with marketing teams on content, social commerce, influencer tie‑ups, and brand campaigns.
  • Optimize CAC, ROAS, LTV, and retention metrics.
Customer Experience & Retention
  • Deliver a seamless end‑to‑end customer journey from discovery to post‑purchase.
  • Improve repeat purchase, subscription adoption, and loyalty programs.
  • Handle feedback loops, reviews, and customer insights to improve products and experience.
Team & Stakeholder Management
  • Build and lead a high‑performing e‑commerce team.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with supply chain, finance, tech, marketing, and customer support.
  • Manage external vendors, agencies, and technology partners.
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Strong expertise in Shopify / Shopify Plus
  • Proven track record in sales generation and D2C growth
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing, analytics, and CRO
  • Data‑driven mindset with strong analytical skills
  • Leadership and stakeholder management capability
  • Passion for organic, healthy, and sustainable products (preferred)
Experience & Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in e‑commerce, with at least 3–4 years in a leadership role
  • Prior experience in D2C, FMCG, food, wellness, or lifestyle brands preferred
  • Strong exposure to Shopify ecosystem, payment gateways, logistics, and CRM tools
  • MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred
