Founded in February 2020, Ekam Early Learning Centre is a progressive Reggio-inspired preschool committed to nurturing curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love for learning in young children. With our flagship centre in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, and two more campuses in Nagole, Hyderabad and Yendada, Vizag, The Happy Childhood Movement has built a strong long-standing community of educators, parents and collaborators who believe in thoughtful and child-centric early education. In 2026, we expand to two new campuses in Kokapet and Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, taking our proven early years approach to more families and children.
About the Role
We are looking for a thoughtful and experienced educator to take on the role of Head of Curriculum (Early Years) at our Kokapet Centre in Hyderabad.
This role will lead the design, implementation, and continuous refinement of the school’s early years curriculum, while supporting teachers in delivering meaningful and developmentally appropriate learning experiences. The Head of Curriculum will work closely with the teaching team and leadership to ensure that classroom practices reflect strong early childhood pedagogy and remain aligned with Ekam’s philosophy of learning.
The Head of Curriculum is responsible for guiding the academic direction of the early years program by strengthening curriculum design, supporting teachers in their practice, and ensuring that children experience rich and engaging learning environments. The role focuses on mentoring educators, fostering reflective teaching practices, and building strong partnerships with families to support children’s overall development.
The Head of Curriculum will be reporting to the Director, Ekam Early Learning Centre.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Leadership & Development
- Lead the planning and implementation of the school’s early years curriculum framework.
- Guide educators in designing meaningful daily, weekly, and thematic learning experiences that align with the school’s educational philosophy.
- Review lesson plans and learning experiences, offering constructive feedback based on best practices in early childhood education.
- Encourage inquiry-driven, play-based, and interdisciplinary learning approaches within classrooms.
Teacher Mentoring & Professional Support
- Create structured opportunities for collaborative planning, reflection, and classroom observations among educators.
- Mentor teachers in strengthening their classroom practices and curriculum delivery.
- Support educators in adapting learning experiences to accommodate diverse developmental needs and learning styles.
- Facilitate professional development initiatives for the teaching team.
Learning Environment
- Work closely with teachers to ensure classrooms provide nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environments.
- Support educators in designing learning spaces that encourage exploration, creativity, and independence among children.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to establish and implement policies for supporting children with additional learning needs.
Documentation & Assessment
- Guide teachers in observing and documenting children’s learning journeys effectively.
- Ensure that documentation and assessment practices reflect the school’s approach to monitoring children’s growth and development.
- Support teachers in communicating children’s progress with families in a meaningful and constructive manner.
Family Engagement
- Design opportunities for meaningful parent-school collaboration, such as parent-teacher meetings, learning showcases, and student-led events.
- Conduct parent workshops to share insights on child development, early learning approaches, and ways families can support learning at home.
Building a Reflective School Culture
- Foster a culture where educators engage in thoughtful reflection, inquiry, and continuous improvement in their teaching practices.
- Establish clear expectations and professional standards aligned with the values and vision of Ekam.
- Encourage collaborative dialogue among teachers and staff to strengthen the overall learning community.
Institutional Development & Outreach
- Work with the leadership team to support school outreach and community engagement initiatives.
- Build connections with other educators, institutions, and professional communities to strengthen knowledge exchange and collaboration.
Professional Growth
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning by actively seeking opportunities to expand knowledge in early childhood education and curriculum design.
- Model a growth mindset and reflective leadership within the teaching community.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- A strong passion for working in the early childhood education space.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field, preferably in Early Childhood Education.
- Deep understanding of child development, curriculum design, and early learning pedagogies.
- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in an early years program.
- Prior leadership or academic coordination experience within an educational institution is preferred.
- Experience with unit planning, curriculum mapping, and reflective teaching practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable using technology for planning, documentation, and communication.
