Job Description

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

Mechanical Design Expertise
In-depth knowledge and experience in mechanical design principles for complex components and systems.
Material Evaluation & Selection
Ability to evaluate and select appropriate materials for mechanical components considering end application, temperature, pressure, and other working conditions.
Simulation & Analysis
Proficiency in FEA softwareand strong understanding of:

Checking load-controlled stress limits to prevent plastic collapse
Verifying compliance with strain limits under sustained high-temperature exposure
Assessing fatigue and creep-fatigue damage during thermal cycles
Evaluating buckling stability at operating temperature
Integrating stress/strain results with Code procedures to evaluate creep rupture, fatigue life, and combined creep-fatigue failure modes

High-Temperature Applications
Sound knowledge of designing components for elevated temperature operations, including material selection based on strength at high temperatures.
Finite Element Modeling
Expertise in discretizing CAD models by creating finite element meshes, selecting appropriate element types and mesh densities to capture structural behavior accurately while optimizing computational efficiency.
Simulation for Manufacturing
Hands-on experience with simulation software for casting and forging processes.
Failure Analysis
Proven track record in failure analysis and root cause analysis for quality issues related to mechanical design and material selection.
