Role Description The Head Designer will lead the design function for sugar mill boiling house equipment and industrial fabrication projects in a full-time, on-site role based in Ghaziabad. This position is responsible for overseeing end-to-end design activities, including concept development, detailed engineering drawings, and design validation for components and assemblies. The Head Designer will coordinate closely with production, quality, and sales teams to ensure feasibility, manufacturability, and alignment with client specifications and industry standards. Daily tasks include supervising a design team, reviewing and approving design documents, optimizing designs for efficiency and cost-effectiveness, and maintaining design libraries and documentation. The role also involves collaborating with clients and vendors on technical requirements, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and staying current with relevant design tools, materials, and manufacturing technologies.
Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in mechanical design and engineering, including experience with industrial equipment, fabrication processes, and component design.
• Hands-on expertise with CAD and related design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) for creating and reviewing detailed drawings and 3D models.
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods, materials, welding, and fabrication standards, with an ability to design for manufacturability and quality.
• Proven experience leading design teams, mentoring designers, and managing multiple projects with clear timelines and priorities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with production, quality, sales, and external stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field; advanced certifications in design or CAD tools are an advantage.
• Experience in the sugar industry or heavy engineering sectors is highly preferred, along with familiarity with relevant codes and standards.
• Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement in design practices and processes.
