Role Purpose
Udit Group of Companies Limited is strengthening its corporate team to support the execution of large highway and infrastructure projects across India.
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the management, planning, and utilisation of construction equipment and machinery across multiple project sites.
The role will oversee the company’s fleet of heavy equipment including earthmoving, road construction, and material handling machinery, ensuring optimal utilisation, preventive maintenance, and operational efficiency.
Effective equipment management plays a critical role in project productivity, cost control, and timely project completion, making this a key operational leadership role within the organisation.
Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Planning & Deployment
- Plan equipment requirements for new and ongoing highway projects
- Coordinate mobilisation and demobilisation of machinery between project sites
- Ensure adequate equipment availability aligned with project schedules
Fleet Management
Manage the company’s fleet of highway construction equipment such as:
- motor graders
- pavers
- soil compactors and rollers
- excavators
- loaders
- dumpers and tippers
- batching plants and crushers
Ensure efficient allocation and utilisation across projects.
Equipment Utilisation Monitoring
- Track equipment productivity and utilisation rates
- Identify idle or underutilised machinery
- Improve operational efficiency through better equipment planning
Preventive Maintenance
- Develop preventive maintenance schedules for all machinery
- Monitor breakdown reports and repair cycles
- Ensure timely servicing to minimise equipment downtime
Fuel Consumption Monitoring
- Monitor fuel consumption across project sites
- Identify abnormal fuel usage patterns
- Implement fuel efficiency measures
Coordination With Project Teams
- Work closely with project managers and site engineers to assess equipment needs
- Resolve equipment shortages and breakdown issues quickly
- Provide technical support for machinery-related challenges
Vendor & Service Coordination
- Coordinate with equipment suppliers and service providers
- Manage equipment AMC contracts where applicable
- Ensure timely availability of spare parts and service support
Mandatory Skills
Candidates must demonstrate strong expertise in:
- management of construction equipment for highway projects
- preventive maintenance systems for heavy machinery
- equipment productivity analysis
- fleet deployment across multiple project sites
Technical Knowledge
Candidates should have practical knowledge of equipment used in highway construction, including:
- earthmoving machinery
- asphalt paving equipment
- soil compaction machinery
- aggregate crushing plants
- batching plants
Experience Requirement
12–20 years in construction equipment management or plant & machinery operations.
Candidates must have managed equipment fleets for highway or large civil infrastructure projects valued above ₹100 crore.
Preferred Candidate Background
Suitable candidates may currently be working as:
- Equipment Manager – Highway Projects
- Plant & Machinery Head – Infrastructure Projects
- Fleet Manager – Construction Equipment
- Mechanical Manager – EPC Construction
Experience with companies such as:
- Dilip Buildcon
- PNC Infratech
- KNR Constructions
- Ashoka Buildcon
- GR Infraprojects
will be strongly preferred.
Key Qualities We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
- strong practical understanding of highway construction equipment
- ability to optimise machinery utilisation
- strong coordination with site teams and project managers
- problem-solving capability in high-pressure operational situations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
