Job Description
Koehler Instrument Company is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Gulf Coast Sales Manager to drive territory growth across Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. This role is responsible for developing new business, managing key customer and distributor relationships, and growing sales of laboratory instrumentation used in petroleum, petrochemical, and industrial testing applications.
This is a high-impact role for someone who understands the competitive landscape, is comfortable selling technical solutions, and can build strong relationships with refineries, commercial laboratories, research facilities, and industrial customers throughout the region.
Koehler Instrument Company is a well-established and trusted name in petroleum testing instrumentation, known for quality, precision, and long-term customer support. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the territory and expand our presence in a strategically important market.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow sales activity throughout the Gulf Coast territory, including TX, LA, MS, and AL
- Develop new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding existing customer accounts
- Build relationships with refineries, contract laboratories, research organizations, industrial end users, and distributor partners
- Deliver technical sales presentations, product recommendations, quotations, and follow-up support
- Provide pre-sale and post-sale support, including product guidance, demonstrations, and application discussions
- Work closely with internal engineering, service, and marketing teams to address customer requirements and support sales efforts
- Maintain accurate pipeline, forecast, and account activity records in CRM
- Represent Koehler at customer visits, industry events, trade shows, and distributor meetings
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of B2B technical sales experience in laboratory instrumentation, petroleum testing equipment, analytical instruments, or related industrial products
- Proven success managing a sales territory with both direct customer accounts and distributor relationships
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently, manage travel, and drive territory development with minimal supervision
- Willingness to travel frequently throughout the Gulf Coast region
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, chemistry, or another related technical field
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in petroleum, chemical, or refining sectors
- Experience working with ASTM standards or compliance-focused sales
- Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot)
