Role Description This is a full-time, on-site GIS Faculty position based in Kozhikode. The role involves planning and delivering GIS-related lectures, labs, and workshops, including the development of syllabi, lesson plans, and teaching materials. The faculty member will guide learners through practical exercises using GIS software, supervise projects, and support research initiatives in geospatial analysis. Daily responsibilities include assessing student performance, providing constructive feedback, maintaining academic records, and participating in curriculum improvement and academic events. The role also requires collaborating with colleagues, engaging in professional development, and contributing to the academy’s knowledge-driven community.
Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), geospatial analysis, and cartography, with practical experience using common GIS software tools (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS).
  • Knowledge of spatial data management, remote sensing concepts, and basic spatial statistics relevant to civil, environmental, or urban applications.
  • Ability to design and deliver clear, structured instruction, including curriculum development, course planning, and the creation of engaging teaching materials.
  • Effective classroom facilitation and mentoring skills, with a focus on student-centered learning, constructive feedback, and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical concepts in accessible language.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in GIS, Geography, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in research, applied projects, or industry collaboration in geospatial domains is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an academic team, show professionalism, and uphold ethical and non-discriminatory practices.
