About the Role

We are looking for an experienced General Manager to lead and oversee end-to-end plant operations at our DRI/Steel manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in steel manufacturing, particularly in Direct Reduced Iron (DRI), Sponge Iron, Pellet Plants, Ferro Alloys, or integrated steel manufacturing, with a strong background in operations, production, maintenance, safety, quality, and cost optimization.

• Key ResponsibilitiesLead complete plant operations to achieve production, quality, safety, and profitability targets.
• Manage DRI/Sponge Iron production while ensuring optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and raw materials.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce operational costs, and improve plant efficiency.
• Monitor production planning, inventory, and dispatch to ensure timely execution.
• Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance practices to minimize equipment downtime.
• Develop and implement operational strategies for capacity enhancement and process optimization.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, environmental norms, and safety standards.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions where required.
• Coordinate with procurement, logistics, quality, maintenance, and commercial teams for smooth plant operations.
• Lead and mentor production, maintenance, utility, and support teams to build a high-performance culture.
• Drive energy conservation, waste reduction, and sustainable manufacturing initiatives.
• Prepare production reports, MIS, budgets, and performance reviews for senior management.
• Desired Candidate ProfileBachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 13–24 years of experience in Steel Manufacturing, DRI, Sponge Iron, Pellet Plants, Ferro Alloys, Rolling Mills, or Integrated Steel Plants.
• Proven experience in leading large manufacturing operations and cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of DRI production processes, plant operations, maintenance systems, and process optimization.
• Knowledge of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
