Role Description The General Manager – Boutique Farm Stay Property internship is an on-site role based in Palampur, responsible for overseeing daily operations of a small, high-quality farm stay. The intern will coordinate guest services, manage bookings, and ensure an exceptional, hospitality-driven experience for visitors. Key day-to-day tasks include supervising housekeeping and maintenance schedules, coordinating with kitchen and farm teams to create authentic, farm-to-table experiences, and maintaining property standards aligned with the Hill Farm Organics brand. The role also involves assisting with basic budgeting and inventory, supporting local community engagement, and contributing to marketing and guest communication initiatives. This is a full-time internship position that offers hands-on exposure to sustainable hospitality and agritourism.
Qualifications
  • Strong hospitality and customer service skills, with the ability to manage guest relations and ensure a welcoming, high-quality stay experience.
  • Basic operations and administration skills, including scheduling, coordination of housekeeping and maintenance, and handling bookings and records.
  • Foundational knowledge or interest in farm-based tourism, sustainable living, or natural foods, with willingness to learn about fermentation and wellness-focused offerings.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with internal teams, local communities, and guests in a professional manner.
  • Organizational and problem-solving abilities to manage multiple tasks, maintain property standards, and respond proactively to day-to-day issues.
  • Comfort working on-site in a rural setting, with adaptability, reliability, and a hands-on approach to operational tasks.
  • Relevant education or coursework in hospitality management, tourism, business administration, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Prior exposure to hospitality, homestays, or guest services through internships, projects, or volunteer experience will be an advantage.
