Position Overview
We are looking for a Senior Game Data Analyst to analyze player behavior and game performance to generate insights that improve gameplay, retention, monetization, and live operations.
In this role, you will partner closely with Game Directors, Product Managers, and Live Ops teams, translating complex data into clear recommendations that influence game design and strategic decisions. This is not just a reporting role — you will actively contribute to experimentation, decision-making, and continuous game optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Game Performance & Player Behavior Analysis
- Analyze player behavior across gameplay loops, levels, and features.
- Identify engagement drivers, friction points, and player drop-off areas.
- Translate gameplay data into actionable insights for game design improvements.
Retention, Monetization & Live Ops Analytics
- Monitor key performance metrics such as retention, churn, ARPU, ARPPU, and conversion funnels.
- Evaluate the performance of in-game events, promotions, and live operations activities.
- Support optimization of game economy and monetization strategies.
Experimentation & A/B Testing
- Design and analyze A/B tests and experiments for game features and live operations.
- Define success metrics and interpret experimental results.
- Provide clear, data-backed recommendations to product and game teams.
Insight Communication & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Present insights and recommendations to Game Directors, Product Managers, and cross-functional teams.
- Build clear data narratives explaining what happened, why it happened, and what actions to take next.
- Act as a trusted analytical partner in product discussions and decision-making.
Analytics Quality & Mentorship
- Ensure analytical accuracy and high-quality insight generation.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to analytics best practices.
- Help improve analytics frameworks, dashboards, and reporting standards.
Requirements
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in game analytics, product analytics, or a similar role.
- Experience working with mobile games or live-service games is highly preferred.
- Proven experience analyzing player behavior, retention, and monetization metrics.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in SQL.
- Experience with BI tools and data visualization platforms.
- Strong understanding of cohort analysis, funnels, and A/B testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with game analytics metrics and KPIs.
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, iterative game development environments.
