Functional Safety Engineer

Qualification: BE/B.TEC, Masters in CS, EC,ENTC

Experience: 8 to 11 years

Roles & Responsibilities:

• ISO 26262 • Safety Analysis • ECU Development • HW/SW Architecture
• ISO 26262 & Safety Lifecycle
• ISO 26262 Level 1 certified; full lifecycle experience from concept phase to SOP.
• Development of Functional Safety Concepts (FSC), Technical Safety Concepts (TSC), ASIL decomposition, safety goals.
• Safety Analysis & Requirements Engineering
• FMEDA, FMEA, DFA, FTA; diagnostic coverage and PMHF calculations.
• Controller safety manual analysis (Aurix, MicroSoar, TLF).
• Safety requirements engineering and allocation to HW & SW.
• Item Definition & HARA experience.
• ECU Hardware & Software Expertise
• Strong ECU HW understanding: circuits, HSI, FIT rates, FTTI, fault latency.
• Knowledge of SW development lifecycle and safety driven architecture design.
• Deriving and defining HW/SW safety mechanisms.
• Safety Mechanisms & Fault Analysis
• Latent, single point, and dual point fault analysis.
• Experience with watchdogs, lockstep cores, BIST, ECC, CRC, timing supervision, plausibility checks.
• Development of diagnostic concepts for MCUs and PMICs.
• Verification, Validation & Testing
• Support Safety verification & validation planning, fault injection testing, and safety mechanism testing.
• Support for system integration, bring up, and debug activities.
• Audit, Assessment & Conformance
• Support with confirmation reviews, safety audits, and independent safety assessments.
• Preparation of compliance documentation and assessor packages.
• Cross Functional Collaboration
• Working with system, hardware, software, quality teams and OEM stakeholders.
• Leading safety reviews, workshops, and technical discussions.
