Full Stack Engineer/Developer

Software Development and System Engineering

·       Develop front-end features according to business specifications using a variety of JS libraries and JS tools.

·       Write unit and end-to-end tests for existing code .

·       Fix bugs, maintain, and update the system as needed.

·       Integrate first and third-party APIs.

·       Write documentation as needed on various parts of the system.

·       Training and mentoring junior developers as needed.

·       Ensure the feasibility of UI/UX designs and develop code with the end user in mind.

·       Create and implement the systems design and application software configuration for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software and SaaS (software as a service) systems in support of Zoetis R&D business initiatives.

·       Ability to guide a small third-party development team for custom solution implementations and upgrades.

·       As a member of IT projects, perform technical lead responsibility including planning, design, and implementation of information systems.

·       Create system documentation and transition day to day activities to support team.

·       Translates business requirements into novel solutions, UI/UX designs, system configurations, data design requirements, and data models.

·       Provides technical expertise to solution delivery teams throughout all phases of the application life cycle with a focus on design and development activities.

·       Ensures operational and analytical data stores can support cross-functional business requirements for reporting across the organization.

·       Assists project managers with project schedules by identifying technical tasks and system dependencies, as well as estimating resources and task duration.

·       As part of the R&D ZTD team, takes on the responsibilities associated with establishing and maintaining existing solutions.

·       Consult with technical lead for scope, approach, next steps, and direction regarding project / department / business objectives

Technology Consultation

·       Translates business requirements into innovative solutions, system configurations, data design requirements, and data models.

·       Participate in the definition of long-term systems strategies and roadmaps.

·       Provides technical effort estimates for proposed projects and solutions.  Assists project managers by identifying technical tasks and system dependencies, estimating resources and task duration.

·       Provide financial evaluations of proposed solutions by providing technical effort estimates.

Software and Technology Support

·       Provide Level 3 and 4 support for VMRD software and technology.

·       Give assistance to level 1 and 2 support teams.

·       Provide operational support for deployed applications, including monitoring performance, responding to user-reported issues, and applying hotfixes as necessary to maintain SLAs.

·       Collaborate with Level 1 and Level 2 support teams, serving as an escalation point for complex technical problems (including Level 3/4 troubleshooting and resolution).

·       Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 system reliability, including after-hours support for critical incidents.

·       Own and continuously improve the incident management and post-mortem/RCAs process for supported applications.

·       Document common operational issues and develop/maintain knowledge base articles and runbooks for the support team.

·       Develop tooling and scripts to automate recurring manual support tasks, system monitoring, and reporting.

·       Analyze operational s and logs to detect patterns, proactively addressing performance bottlenecks and root causes before they escalate.

·       Champion operational excellence in all development cycles, ensuring applications are built with reliability, observability, and maintainability in mind.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

·       5+ years of experience as an information technology professional or a closely related field and role.

·       Undergraduate degree related to Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

·       Experience with the design and building of systems and information solutions (including modeling and database design), preferably with enterprise-level information/data solutions or architecture projects.

·       Experience with implementations utilizing multiple vendors and/or departments.

·       Experience with data management and/or information integration efforts in large scale programs.

·       Experience working closely with UI/UX designers to implement designs and ensure design consistency across the application.

·       Ability to interpret wireframes, mockups, and prototypes (e.g., from Figma) and translate them into responsive, interactive web interfaces. 

·       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships.

·       Ability to prioritize issues and drive progress in ambiguous situations.

·       Domain knowledge expertise in pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

·       Experience with software testing including unit, integration, and regression testing

·       Experience with technical writing for SDLC documentation

·       Proven experience of working with colleagues in US & Europe 

·       Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms 

·       Ability to translate business requirements into solutions that map to technology capabilities. 

·       Ability to take direction and to complete tasks with minimal direction  

·       Ability to prioritize issues and drive progress in ambiguous situations
