Job Title- Freight Broker

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Freight Broker with 6 months to 2 years of experience in freight brokerage. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating freight transportation, negotiating competitive rates with carriers, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring timely and cost-effective shipment execution. Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.


Key Responsibilities -

  • Source and secure reliable carriers for customer freight.
  • Negotiate freight rates with carriers and customers to maximize profitability.
  • Coordinate and monitor shipments from pickup through delivery.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with shippers, carriers, and logistics partners.
  • Track shipments proactively and provide timely updates to customers.
  • Resolve shipment issues, delays, and service disruptions efficiently.
  • Ensure all freight documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Maintain compliance with transportation regulations and company policies.
  • Manage carrier performance and ensure quality service standards.
  • Enter and update shipment information in the Transportation Management System (TMS).
  • Work closely with internal teams to meet customer expectations and business goals.
  • Meet daily, weekly, and monthly sales and operational performance targets.


Required Qualifications -

  • 6 months to 2 years of experience in freight brokerage, logistics, transportation, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Knowledge of truckload (FTL), less-than-truckload (LTL), and freight operations.
  • Understanding of carrier sourcing, rate negotiation, and shipment management.
  • Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.


Preferred Skills -

  • Experience working with North American freight markets.
  • Familiarity with load boards such as DAT and Truckstop.
  • Knowledge of freight pricing strategies and market trends.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build long-term relationships with customers and carriers.
