About Oculon AI

Oculon AI is building the AI system of work for finance.

Finance teams today still run critical workflows across spreadsheets, legacy planning tools, disconnected ERPs, emails, and manual reporting packs. Oculon brings planning, reporting, analysis, integrations, and AI agents into one intelligent workspace where finance work can be planned, executed, reviewed, and automated.

We are starting with FP&A, an established multi-billion-dollar software category that is ready for an AI-native reset. Our goal is to become the default workspace for modern finance teams, starting with founders, CFOs, finance leaders, and operators at high-growth companies.

We're looking for an early GTM builder to take Oculon from first customers to a repeatable, product-led sales motion.

Role Overview

We are hiring a Founding GTM Lead to own Oculon's early go-to-market motion across inbound, outbound, product-led sales, pilots, partnerships, and early customer success.

This is not a traditional sales role. This is a 0 to 1 company-building role.

You will work directly with the founders to define our ICP, run customer conversations, build pipeline, convert early customers, improve onboarding, create GTM assets, and help turn Oculon into a product-led sales machine.

You are sharp with customers, a strong writer, comfortable with ambiguity, and happy to build the playbook while doing the work yourself.

Location - Remote

Employment Type - Full time

Compensation

Significant equity, reflecting our commitment to sharing the company's success with founding team members. This is balanced with lower cash compensation initially, making it ideal for someone who wants to build, own, and grow with the company.

Responsibilities

  • Own Early GTM End to End: Build and run Oculon's GTM motion across inbound, outbound, product-led sales, pilots, partnerships, and early customer success.
  • Build Pipeline: Identify and engage high-potential accounts across founders, CFOs, finance leaders, operators, and startup finance teams.
  • Run Outbound: Create target lists, write sharp messaging, run outbound campaigns, book qualified conversations, and improve conversion through constant iteration.
  • Convert Inbound: Manage inbound leads, qualify users, understand intent, drive demos, and move the best prospects toward activation, pilots, and paid plans.
  • Build Product-Led Sales Motion: Work with product and design to improve onboarding, activation, demo workspaces, templates, usage triggers, and upgrade paths.
  • Convert Early Customers: Help turn design partners, pilots, and active users into paying customers.
  • Create GTM Assets: Build sales decks, demo scripts, email sequences, landing page copy, case studies, ROI narratives, onboarding flows, and objection handling docs.
  • Run Customer Discovery: Speak with customers every week to understand pain points, workflows, buying triggers, objections, and product gaps.
  • Build Partnerships: Explore and manage relationships with fractional CFOs, startup communities, accounting firms, consultants, accelerators, and ecosystem partners.
  • Create the GTM Operating System: Set up CRM discipline, pipeline tracking, funnel metrics, customer notes, weekly GTM reporting, and repeatable sales processes.
  • Feed Product Insights Back: Convert customer conversations into clear product feedback and work with the founding team to improve the product and positioning.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Early-Stage GTM Experience: 5+ years across B2B SaaS, startup sales, growth, product marketing, customer success, founder's office, or business operations, ideally at an early-stage startup.
  • Builder Mindset: You are excited to build from scratch, not just operate an existing playbook.
  • Sales Ability: You can run discovery, qualify leads, communicate value, handle objections, and move customers forward.
  • Strong Writing: You write clearly and sharply across emails, landing pages, sales collateral, follow-ups, and internal docs.
  • Product-Led Thinking: You understand that great GTM is not just sales calls. It is onboarding, activation, usage, conversion, expansion, and retention.
  • Customer Obsession: You enjoy talking to users, understanding their problems deeply, and translating those insights into better messaging and product direction.
  • Analytical Discipline: You can track pipeline, funnel metrics, activation, conversion, and experiment results without overcomplicating the process.
  • High Ownership: You can operate independently, make progress with limited structure, and take responsibility for outcomes.
  • AI-Native Workflow: You use AI tools naturally to move faster across research, writing, prospecting, content, CRM, and customer work.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Finance or SaaS Exposure: Experience selling to or working with CFOs, finance teams, founders, operators, RevOps, or business teams.
  • FP&A Familiarity: Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, reporting, variance analysis, board reporting, SaaS metrics, or business planning workflows.
  • Product-Led Sales Experience: Experience with PLG, freemium, self-serve onboarding, usage-based qualification, or sales-assisted conversion.
  • Outbound Strength: Experience running sharp outbound campaigns without depending on a large SDR team.
  • Partnership Experience: Experience building channels through consultants, communities, agencies, accelerators, fractional CFOs, or ecosystem partners.
  • Content and Community: Ability to create useful content, customer stories, launch posts, webinars, templates, and founder-led GTM assets.
  • Startup Operator Background: Prior founder, early employee, founder's office, chief of staff, growth, or business operations experience is a strong plus.
  • GTM Tools: Experience with tools like HubSpot, Attio, Apollo, Clay, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Notion, Slack, or similar systems.

Benefits

  • Flexible Hours: Flexible working hours and remote work options.
  • High Ownership: Opportunity to build Oculon's GTM function from the ground up.
  • Founder Access: Work directly with the founding team on sales, product, positioning, and company strategy.
  • Growth Opportunity: Opportunity to grow into a senior GTM or revenue leadership role as the company scales.
  • Category-Building Work: Build at the intersection of AI, finance, planning, and enterprise software.

Why Join Us?

  • You Will Build the Playbook: This is not a role where you inherit a mature sales machine. You will help create it.
  • You Will Own Real Outcomes: Pipeline, activation, pilots, paid customers, GTM assets, partnerships, and customer learning.
  • You Will Work Close to Product: Your customer insights will directly shape what we build.
  • You Will Help Define a Category: Oculon is building an AI-native system of work for finance, starting with FP&A.
  • You Will Have Meaningful Upside: This is a founding GTM role with significant ownership and room to grow as the company grows.

If you can sell, write, run experiments, learn from customers, and build a product-led sales motion from scratch, we want to hear from you. Apply now to help build the future of finance work.
