Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Forward Deployed Engineer role based in Kolkata. The Forward Deployed Engineer will work closely with restaurant partners to understand their operational workflows, translate real-world challenges into technical solutions, and configure and deploy Kurokaa’s systems in live environments. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and maintaining backend services, integrating data sources, customizing features to fit each restaurant’s needs, and troubleshooting issues directly in the field. The role involves collaborating with product and engineering teams to improve reliability and performance, gathering user feedback, and iterating on implementation strategies. This position requires a strong hands-on presence at customer locations, ensuring that the technology quietly enhances operations without disrupting service.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and system design.
• Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-grade applications.
• Hands-on skills in Back-End Web Development, working with APIs, databases, and scalable services.
• Experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and related design principles.
• Ability to work on-site with customers, understand operational workflows, and translate needs into technical solutions.
• Familiarity with modern development tools, version control, testing, and deployment practices.
• Comfort with fast-paced environments, debugging in real time, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Interest in restaurant operations, logistics, or real-time systems is highly beneficial.
