Role Overview

We are hiring a Finance Controller to lead financial accuracy, internal controls, reconciliations, and statutory oversight across the company.

You will manage Finance Operations (AR + AP) and Compliance, ensure timely monthly close, and provide leadership with reliable financial visibility.

This role works directly with the Founder and plays a central role in building a disciplined, scalable finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Close & Controls

• Own monthly financial close within defined timelines
• Ensure complete bank, ledger, and liability reconciliations
• Maintain clean, audit-ready books
• Establish and enforce internal financial controls

Revenue & Cash Discipline

• Oversee AR aging and collections performance
• Ensure revenue integrity across EOR, AOR, recruiting, and pass-through services
• Monitor deposit balances and payroll liabilities
• Protect margins and prevent revenue leakage

Expense & Payment Oversight

• Review and approve payment runs
• Ensure proper cost center and client-level tagging
• Maintain spend discipline and visibility

Compliance & Statutory Governance

• Oversee GST, TDS, PF, ESIC, payroll, and corporate filings
• Coordinate with external CA and auditors
• Maintain statutory calendar and documentation
• Build financial controls aligned to audit/SOC2 requirements

Systems & Process Improvement

• Strengthen Zoho Books workflows
• Standardize financial SOPs
• Improve reporting automation and visibility

Reporting & Visibility

• Weekly cash and AR dashboard
• Monthly management reporting pack
• Clear view of product-level margins
• Support rolling cash flow visibility

What Success Looks Like

• Monthly close completed within 5 working days
• 100% reconciliation of deposits and payroll liabilities
• Zero compliance delays or penalties
• Real-time visibility into cash and margins
• Strong audit trail and documentation
• Finance processes that scale with growth

Qualifications

• 5–12 years of accounting/finance experience
• CA preferred
• Experience in high-transaction or payroll-heavy environments
• Strong understanding of GST, TDS, payroll compliance
• Experience leading finance operations teams
• Strong systems orientation (Zoho/Xero/ERP exposure)
• Detail-driven and process-focused
• Comfortable working in a fast-scaling company
