Job Description

Job Summary

The Accounts Manager is responsible for managing the hotel’s financial and accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, statutory compliance, cost controls, and timely reporting. The role supports hotel management with financial insights while ensuring adherence to company policies and hospitality industry standards.


Key ResponsibilitiesHotel Accounting Operations
  • Oversee daily accounting activities including income audit, night audit review, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Ensure proper accounting of room revenue, F&B revenue, banquets, and other hotel income streams.
  • Monitor daily revenue reports, cash collections, credit card settlements, and city ledger balances.
Financial Reporting & MIS
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
  • Generate hotel-specific MIS reports such as GOP analysis, departmental cost reports, and variance analysis.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for all departments.
Compliance & Audit
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including GST, TDS, PF, ESI, Professional Tax, and Income Tax.
  • Coordinate and support internal audits, statutory audits, and brand audits.
  • Ensure timely filing of returns and closure of audit observations.
Cost Control & Inventory
  • Monitor food & beverage cost, store inventory, and consumption reports.
  • Review purchase orders, vendor bills, and credit notes.
  • Coordinate with stores and F&B teams for stock verification and month-end closing.
Cash & Treasury Management
  • Manage hotel cash flow, bank reconciliations, and fund planning.
  • Oversee cash handling procedures, safes, and float controls.
  • Monitor receivables, credit limits, and collections from travel agents and corporate clients.
Systems & Controls
  • Ensure effective use of hotel accounting and PMS systems.
  • Maintain strong internal controls, SOP compliance, and authorization processes.
  • Support ERP / system upgrades and implementations.
Team Management
  • Supervise and train the accounts team including income audit and payables staff.
  • Ensure accuracy, discipline, and adherence to timelines.
  • Coordinate with operations, F&B, stores, and front office teams.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Accounting / Finance (CA Inter / CMA Inter preferred).
  • 5–8 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hotel industry.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel accounting practices and statutory compliance.
  • Proficiency in hotel PMS, accounting software, and MS Excel.
  • Experience in audits and multi-department coordination.
