Expert Python Engineer

Ciklum is looking for an Expert Python Engineer to join our team full-time in India.

About the role:

We are seeking an Expert Python Engineer with deep expertise in FastAPI to join our high-performing engineering team. The ideal candidate will design, build, and optimize scalable backend services and APIs that power mission-critical applications. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, architectural thinking, and hands-on coding ability.

Responsibilities:

• Architect, develop, and maintain high-performance APIs using FastAPI
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Optimize backend systems for scalability, reliability, and speed
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, and data validation mechanisms
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following best practices
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to technical standards
• Integrate APIs with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and external services
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems to ensure high availability

Requirements:

• Expert-level proficiency in Python (5+ years professional experience)
• Strong hands-on experience with FastAPI (must-have)
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture
• Experience with async programming and performance tuning
• Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Strong grasp of unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, and Git workflows
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Desirable:

• Experience with GraphQL or gRPC
• Background in distributed systems and event-driven architectures
• Exposure to machine learning pipelines or data-intensive applications
• Contributions to open-source projects or technical communities
