Job Description: To support and execute mechanical engineering activities related to pharmaceutical projects, including installation, commissioning, qualification, and engineering support, ensuring compliance with GMP, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Plant & Block Maintenance
- Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment in assigned production blocks.
- Maintain and monitor critical equipment such as reactors, blenders, machines, Centrifuges and packaging equipment.
- Ensure minimum downtime and quick restoration of equipment during breakdowns.
- Support maintenance of utilities such as HVAC, chillers, compressors, boilers, pumps, and vacuum systems (as applicable).
- Ensure proper functioning of mechanical systems like gearboxes, conveyors, agitators, and valves.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with GMP, safety, and quality standards.
- Prepare, review, and maintain maintenance SOPs, checklists, logs, and records.
- Support audits (internal, external, regulatory) by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Identify critical spares and maintain inventory levels.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for AMC, repairs, and shutdown maintenance activities.
- Raise work orders, service requests, and follow up on timely closure.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed during maintenance activities.
- Participate in equipment qualification, installation, commissioning, and validation activities.
- Suggest and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment efficiency and reliability.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BE / B.Tech Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Plant is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical equipment and utilities.
- Familiarity with GMP, documentation practices, and safety standards.
- Ability to handle breakdowns independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
