Estimation Engineer (Trainee)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Estimation Engineer with 2 years of hands-on experience in cost estimation for Electrical control panel & Instrumentation projects. The ideal candidate should be capable of independently handling tender analysis, cost preparation, vendor coordination, and supporting business development activities.

This role requires strong analytical skills, technical knowledge, and commercial awareness to prepare competitive and accurate project estimates.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

🔹 Tender & Proposal Management

Review and analyze tender documents, technical specifications, and drawings.

Prepare detailed techno-commercial proposals.

Identify scope of work, exclusions, deviations, and commercial risks.

Prepare compliance statements as per client requirements.

🔹 Cost Estimation & BOQ

Perform quantity take-offs from GA drawings, SLD, P&ID, wiring diagrams.

Prepare detailed BOQ with item-wise costing.

Develop cost break-up including materials, labor, engineering, testing & commissioning.

Calculate overheads, margins, contingency, and taxes.

🔹 Vendor & Supplier Coordination

Float RFQs to approved vendors.

Evaluate vendor quotations technically and commercially.

Prepare comparative statements.

Negotiate pricing to achieve competitive costing.

🔹 Technical Support

Assist sales team during client meetings and pre-bid discussions.

Provide clarifications for technical queries during bidding stage.

Support project team during handover stage.

🔹 Documentation & Reporting

Maintain cost database for future reference.

Track tender status and update management regularly.

Prepare internal approval notes before submission.

Strong knowledge in:

Electrical Panels (PCC, MCC, PLC Panels)

Field Instruments

Cable sizing & selection

Control & Power systems

Understanding of industrial standards.

Proficiency in:

MS Excel (Advanced formulas preferred)

MS Word & PowerPoint

Basic AutoCAD (added advantage)
