Estimation Engineer

Estimation Engineer is primarily responsible for developing detailed and accurate cost estimates for engineering projects. This involves analysing project requirements, assessing material and labour costs, and considering other expenses to provide a comprehensive cost breakdown. They collaborate with various teams, including project managers and engineers, to ensure estimates align with project goals and budgets. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Analysing Project Requirements:

Thoroughly reviewing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to understand the scope of work and identify necessary resources. 

• Cost Estimation:

Calculating the total cost of a project, including materials, labour, equipment, and other expenses. 

• Developing Detailed Estimates:

Creating comprehensive cost breakdowns, often including a "bill of materials" and labour hour estimates. 

• Collaborating with Teams:

Working with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information, refine estimates, and ensure alignment with project goals. 

• Risk Assessment:

Identifying potential risks that could impact project costs and incorporating them into the estimate. 

• Presenting Estimates:

Clearly communicating cost estimates to relevant parties, including clients and management, and providing justifications for the figures. 

• Updating and Maintaining Databases:

Keeping cost databases and other estimation tools up-to-date with current material prices, labour rates, and other relevant information. 

• Improving Estimation Processes:

Continuously evaluating and refining estimation methodologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency. 

• Supporting Sales and Business Development:

Providing technical insights and cost information to support sales efforts and proposal development. 

• Value Engineering:

Identifying opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality or functionality.
