Enterprise Architecture Governance Architect (with API & Python)

Step into a pivotal architecture role where you’ll guide cross‑domain decisioning and governance across our Cloud, Compute & Storage landscape. As a key thought partner to Domain Architects and delivery teams, you’ll lead ADRs, shape solution and reference architectures, and ensure coherent, scalable designs across data, application and platform domains. To excel, you’ll bring strong architecture intuition along with hands‑on literacy in API/Swagger concepts and Python, enabling you to translate complex technical choices into clear, long‑term architectural direction.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Cloud, Compute & Storage Architecture team provides architecture governance and oversight for the Cloud Fleet and the Compute & Storage (CAS) Fleet, including curating ADRs, Solution and Reference Architectures. It also provides applied architecture, such as designs for cross-domain solutions, where a broad understanding of the space is required. This involves working with the domain architects to agree on the approach and the delivery teams to ensure the solution meets the goals of the design.

The central team is also responsible for architecture reviews and supplying or recommending tooling and templates as well as architecture metrics and communication. There is also a project management aspect to the job that involves tracking ADRs and running architecture reviews.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on with experience across data, application, and/or technology domains, for example, Sybase data modeling or Python development. The strategic direction of the team is to mature architecture governance across the fleets whilst setting an example of solid and extendible solution architectures.

Architecture is about making informed choices early on that are expensive or difficult to change later. These choices are made within technology domains. We break up the space into smaller technology domains that allow for a deep SME focus in specific areas and Domain Architect (DA) ownership. If each technology domain makes its own choices, products may not work well together, leading to a fragmented customer experience. Interactions should be seamless to help consumers achieve their goals.

This position will be filled through workforce leasing, meaning the selected candidate will be employed by a third-party Hungarian company and will work full-time for Morgan Stanley.

• Development experience (e.g., Python, Java, ETL, Swagger)
• Data modeling experience (e.g., DB2, Sybase, Snowflake)
• Design thinking
• Pattern recognition and visualization
• Desire to train up in architecture

• Cloud development experience
• Previous architecture experience
• Project management or Scrum Master experience
