About the Role

We are seeking an E-commerce Image Editor (Freelancer) to support advanced AI evaluation initiatives focused on product image editing, e-commerce catalog optimization, image quality assessment, computer vision datasets, and AI-generated image evaluation.

In this role, you will evaluate AI-generated product images, catalog assets, background removal workflows, and image enhancement outputs. Your expertise will help improve AI systems designed for automated product image editing, visual merchandising, and computer vision applications.

This position is ideal for professionals with experience in e-commerce image editing, product photography, graphic design, digital imaging, post-production, or marketplace content management.

Responsibilities

• Create deliverables addressing real-world e-commerce image editing scenarios.
• Annotate and evaluate AI-generated product images, catalog assets, and visual enhancement outputs.
• Assess AI outputs for image quality, consistency, accuracy, marketplace compliance, and production readiness.
• Perform precise background removal by isolating products from complex backgrounds while maintaining clean edges and natural object boundaries.
• Prepare catalog images for e-commerce platforms by ensuring consistent image dimensions, alignment, lighting, resolution, and visual presentation.
• Execute batch editing workflows to efficiently process large volumes of product images while maintaining consistency across catalogs.
• Create accurate clipping paths for products with simple and complex shapes using industry-standard image editing techniques.
• Review AI-generated image edits for background accuracy, edge quality, shadow consistency, color fidelity, and compliance with marketplace image requirements.
• Identify editing artifacts, inconsistent cropping, masking errors, clipping issues, color inaccuracies, and image quality defects.
• Provide structured feedback to improve AI performance in automated image editing, background removal, and product catalog preparation.
• Review peer-developed deliverables to maintain quality and consistency standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Photography, Multimedia, Digital Media, Visual Arts, or a related field is preferred.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in e-commerce image editing, product photography, graphic design, digital imaging, or post-production.
• Performing professional background removal for product images with high precision and clean edge refinement.
• Preparing catalog images that meet marketplace standards for platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, Shopify, Etsy, Walmart, or similar e-commerce platforms.
• Managing batch editing workflows using actions, automation, templates, or image processing tools while ensuring consistent output quality.
• Creating accurate clipping paths for apparel, electronics, jewelry, furniture, consumer goods, and other commercial products.
• Reviewing AI-generated image edits for production quality, consistency, and marketplace compliance.
• Familiarity with Adobe Lightroom, Capture One, Adobe Illustrator, or similar image editing software is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, visual quality assessment, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written English communication skills.
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated product images for editing accuracy, consistency, and commercial usability.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience editing product catalogs for fashion, beauty, electronics, furniture, jewelry, FMCG, or lifestyle brands.
• Experience supporting large-scale e-commerce image production and digital asset management workflows.
• Familiarity with AI-powered image editing tools, computer vision datasets, image annotation platforms, or generative AI workflows.
• Knowledge of marketplace image guidelines, color calibration, and commercial photography workflows is an advantage.
• Portfolio demonstrating professional e-commerce image editing work is highly desirable.
