We also offer skills training through our EMET program, exam preparation coaching, and personal development initiatives to empower these students. Our focus is on assisting visually impaired individuals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, many of whom face significant challenges in pursuing higher education. By targeting those who migrate to cities for better educational opportunities, we aim to bridge the gap and create a pathway for their success.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in Chennai for a Donor Management and Liaison Officer. The role involves building and maintaining relationships with existing donors, developing strategies to attract new donors, and organizing donor campaigns. Additional responsibilities include preparing progress reports, ensuring compliance with funding agreements, coordinating donor-focused events, and serving as the central point of contact for donor communications. The officer will also work to understand donor needs and align them with the organization’s mission. Specific work includes:
1. Drafting and email/post the appeal letters to donors periodically or as required by Directors.
2. Maintaining and tracking the donation records and update data base of donors in ZOHO application periodically.
3. Maintaining and tracking the donor lists and payment records of local and overseas donors
4. Regular correspondence with domestic and overseas donors as required by the director(s)
5. Emailing Annual report/quarterly newsletters/updates about activities of HTBF India to all the donors
6. Preparing the project proposal for seeking donations for specific projects from donors.
7. Keeping the records of all the agreements executed by HTBF worldwide.
8. Keeping donors informed of project progress and prepare any impact assessment reports to send to donors
9. Any other work assigned by the Trustees.
Qualifications
- Strong Interpersonal Skills for effective collaboration and relationship-building with donors and team members
- Analytical Skills to evaluate donor contributions, track engagement, and strategize funding initiatives
- Excellent Communication skills, including written and verbal, to interact with stakeholders professionally
- Customer Service and Training skills to provide support and guidance to donors and stakeholders
- Self-motivated and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Social work or a related field
- Prior experience in non-profit fundraising or donor management is advantageous
Skills
1. Excellent verbal and written or oral communication in English. Knowledge of Tamil and Hindi advantage
2. Experience in report writing
3. Ability to create appeal letters, proposals, impact reports
4. Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications - Word, PPT and Excel
5. Ability to prepare project reports considering all aspects and prepare the cost budget
