Job Title: District Sales Officer (Agri-Inputs)

Department: Peer Partners

Location: Kanpur

Job Summary

The District Sales Officer (DSO) role in Gramik is responsible for driving sales, developing dealer/distributor networks, and promoting agri-input products (e.g., seeds, fertilizers, pesticides) in the assigned district. The DSO will play a key role in market penetration, farmer engagement, and ensuring revenue targets are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales and Revenue Generation
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned district.
  • Promote Gramik’s Private Label Products and other brands agri-input products to whole sellers, retailers, and farmers.
  • Identify new business opportunities and ensure the district team expands the retailer, peer partner & farmer base.
  • Channel Development and Management
  • Built a team of Block Sales Officers to manage distributors and retailers in the district.
  • Ensure adherence to BSO and Peer partners onboarding.
  • Frequent trainings to be imparted to the team on Private Label products, Gramik app etc.
  • Maintain strong relationships with channel partners, peer partners & farmers and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Ensure the team is prompt on invoicing, dispatches, and payment collections.
  • Ensure frequent retailer, peer partner & farmer meets.
  • Farmer Engagement and Field Promotion
  • Conduct field trials, demos, and farmer meetings to promote product usage and efficacy.
  • Regular field visits to ensure Peer partner & farmer supports.
  • Provide technical, app support and product training to farmers and channel partners.
  • Collect farmer data from villages, feedback and relay it to the sales teams.
  • Market Intelligence and Reporting
  • Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and promotional strategies.
  • Submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
  • Provide inputs for product development and marketing strategies.
  • Inventory and Credit Management
  • Monitor inventory levels with distributors and retailers.
  • Ensure proper inventory rotation and avoid overstocking or stockouts.
  • Follow up for outstanding payments and credit control.

Eligibility criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture / Agri-Business / Science.
  • 2–5 years of experience in agri-input sales (preferably in fertilizers, seeds, or crop protection).
  • Knowledge of local geography, cropping patterns, and agricultural practices.
  • Must have a two-wheeler with driving license and smartphone for field activities
  • Only candidates with experience in fieldwork will be preferred

Skills Required

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Target-oriented and self-motivated
  • Ability to build rapport with farmers and channel partners
  • Basic understanding of agri-input products and their usage
  • Proficiency in regional language and local dialect
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and mobile apps
