Role Overview
The Director – PMO will lead end-to-end delivery of complex technology programs across the organization. This role is responsible for establishing strong project governance, driving execution excellence, and ensuring alignment between business objectives and technology delivery.
The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on project management experience, strong expertise in Jira tooling and workflows, and Agile delivery, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a high-quality, regulated financial services environment, such as credit and lending platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- PMO Leadership & Governance
- Lead and mature the Technical PMO function, defining standards, frameworks, and best practices
- Establish and enforce project governance, delivery cadence, and reporting mechanisms
- Own portfolio-level planning, prioritization, and execution across multiple concurrent initiatives
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit, risk, and regulatory requirements
- End-to-End Project & Program Delivery
- Manage end-to-end project delivery from initiation to closure, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk
- Drive delivery of technology initiatives such as:
- Core lending / credit platforms
- Digital applications
- Data, analytics, and integrations
- Cloud, infrastructure, and modernization programs
- Proactively manage risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies (RAID)
- Agile & Jira Excellence
- Act as a Jira power user and PMO owner, defining workflows, dashboards, and metrics
- Drive Agile, Scrum, SAFe, or hybrid delivery models as appropriate
- Ensure accurate tracking of epics, stories, sprints, releases, and milestones
- Provide real-time visibility into delivery health using Jira reports and dashboards
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Engineering & Architecture
- Product Management
- Business & Operations Risk, Compliance, and Security teams
- Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Facilitate decision-making, dependency resolution, and executive alignment
- Stakeholder & Executive Management
- Provide clear, concise, and data-driven updates to senior ladership
- Translate complex technical delivery status into executive-level insights
- Support strategic planning, roadmap development, and investment decisions
- Quality, Risk & Continuous Improvement
- Drive a culture of delivery excellence, quality, and accountability
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery velocity, predictability, and outcomes
- Implement lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives
Experience & Background
12+ years of experience in Technical Project / Program / PMO roles.
Proven experience managing large-scale, cross-functional technology programs
- Strong background in financial services, banking, NBFC, fintech, or credit/lending platforms preferred
- Demonstrated hands-on delivery experience (not just governance)
- Technical & Tools Expertise
- Expert-level experience with Jira (configuration, dashboards, workflows, reporting)
Strong understanding of:
- SDLC and Agile methodologies
- APIs, integrations, cloud platforms
- Data and security considerations in financial systems
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and influencing skills across all levels
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities

Preferred Qualification
- PMP, PgMP, SAFe, Scrum, or similar certifications
- Experience working with global or distributed teams
- Exposure to regulatory frameworks and audits in financial service (edited)
