Job Description

About The Better India

The Better India (TBI) is one of India’s largest positive-impact digital media platforms, working closely with purpose-led brands, partners, and organizations to tell stories that matter. Our brand partnerships are deeply collaborative, content-led, and impact-focused—requiring strong operational leadership to

deliver excellence at scale.

Role Overview

The Director – Projects & Operations (Brand Operations) will be a senior leadership role responsible for owning the end-to-end execution, operations, and governance of brand partnerships at TBI. This role sits at the intersection of clients, vendors, internal teams, and commercial/legal/finance stakeholders,

ensuring that projects are delivered seamlessly, compliantly, and profitably.

This is a vendor-facing, client-facing, and internally connective role, requiring someone who can bring structure, clarity, and calm leadership to complex, multi-stakeholder engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client-Facing Leadership Act as a senior point of contact for key brand and agency partners. Own client expectations across timelines, scope, commercials, and delivery quality. Translate client objectives into clear internal execution plans. Build long-term, trust-based relationships with brand stakeholders.
  • Vendor & Partner Management Lead relationships with external vendors, production partners, freelancers, and agencies. Negotiate commercials, manage SLAs, and ensure delivery quality and cost efficiency. Build and maintain a reliable vendor ecosystem aligned with TBI’s values and standards.
  • Internal Stakeholder & Project Leadership Serve as the central bridge between clients and internal teams (Editorial, Video, Social, Sales, Strategy, Finance).

Drive cross-functional alignment, prioritization, and execution across multiple projects.

Establish strong project management frameworks, workflows, and governance models.

Anticipate risks, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure smooth execution without last-minute escalations.

  • Commercial, Legal & Financial Oversight Own the operational and commercial hygiene of brand projects. Work closely with Finance on pricing, margins, invoicing, collections, and forecasts. Partner with Legal on contracts, MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, and compliance requirements. Ensure all engagements meet internal governance, legal, and financial standards.

What Success Looks Like

  • Brand partnerships are executed smoothly, on time, and within agreed commercials.
  • Clients experience TBI as a dependable, well-run, and strategic partner.
  • Internal teams feel supported, not stretched or confused, during large brand projects.
  • Vendors operate with clarity, accountability, and aligned expectations.
  • Commercial risks are minimized, and profitability is protected.

Ideal Candidate Profile

10–15 years of experience in operations, project management, brand partnerships, or business

operations.

Strong exposure to client-facing roles in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments.

Hands-on experience managing vendors, commercials, contracts, and legal documentation.

Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority.

Calm, structured, and solutions-oriented leadership style.

High attention to detail with a strong business mindset.

Preferred Backgrounds

We are likely to find strong-fit candidates from:

Digital media & content companies (e.g., large publishers, media networks, OTT content, operations)

Brand content studios / creative agencies handling integrated campaigns

Management consulting firms (operations or program management roles)

Large advertising or media agencies (account operations / business operations leadership)

AdTech companies with enterprise brand clients

High-growth startups where leaders have scaled complex client programs

Candidates who have worked at the intersection of content, brands, and operations rather than pure sales will be the best cultural and functional fit for TBI.

Why This Role Matters at TBI

As TBI continues to scale brand partnerships, this role will be critical in ensuring that growth is sustainable, well-governed, and people-friendly—for clients, teams, and partners alike.

This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who enjoys bringing order to complexity and enabling great work behind the scenes.
