Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to architect, deploy, and maintain our hybrid infrastructure spanning AWS cloud and on-premises data centers. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Kubernetes orchestration, CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins, infrastructure as code with Terraform, and deep familiarity with AWS services deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage scalable, highly available, and secure cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform to provision AWS and on-prem resources.
- Build, configure, and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Jenkins for automated software delivery.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications on Kubernetes clusters (EKS or on-prem Kubernetes).
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive reliability engineering practices.
- Automate operational tasks, including backups, patching, and configuration management.
- Collaborate closely with development, security, and network teams to ensure seamless deployments and robust security posture.
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions using tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK stack, or equivalent.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years experience in DevOps, Systems Engineering, or related roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, EKS, Lambda, EKS, CloudWatch.
- In-depth expertise with Kubernetes administration and orchestration (including manifests, helm charts, operators).
- Knowledge in ArgoCD and Rancher is added advantage
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar.
- Expert in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform; experience managing multiple environments.
- Experience with on-premises infrastructure management, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and networking.
- Solid scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation tasks.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of monitoring/logging stacks like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK.
- Responsible for security best practices: configuring least privilege access, secrets management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with service mesh (Istio, Linkerd)
- Familiarity with GitOps workflows (FluxCD, ArgoCD)
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet)
- Exposure to cloud cost optimization strategies
