Section 2 : Job Purpose

Manage new model development as per customer expectations and requirements post feasibility study, proper planning and execution. Ensure adherence to quality systems and standards, manage mass production and prepare effective budget. Ensure the Project KPIs QCDV

Section 3: Areas of Responsibility

Responsibility Heads Key Responsibilities/KRAs

Feasibility study - Ensure collection of required information for feasibility from customer as per requirement

  • Ensure taking feedback on feasibility issues and timely closure of issues related to clarification required from customer
  • Submit required inputs/clarification to customer and negotiate product specifications with customer
  • Facilitate giving proposals for minimizing design
  • Ensure the DR preparation on time & identify the A category Issue

Planning and Execution - Finalize the project plan, ensure execution as per customer master plan and coordinate for preparation of tooling as per the process requirements with P&T; monitor the number of defaults in sample submission and ensure timely submission

  • Review the customer specific requirements, analyse and explain requirements to P&T+ CFT for execution and monitoring; ensure on-time response/communication to customer
  • Interact with customer to facilitate consistent and effective understanding of new product specifications and getting approval upon product development
  • Monitor the number of sample rejections and variance in the agreed and actual specifications
  • Review packaging design as per the requirements of the product and customer and monitor the number of customer complaints & product damage in packing
  • Ensure incorporation of customer feedback in the packaging proposals of new model packaging

Quality - Conduct quality checks on the produced parts for new models, find gaps (if any) in order to regulate product quality and ensure customer satisfaction

  • Execute the quality system requirements as per the company objectives (System audits, TQM, TPM, etc.)
  • Provide feedback to plant and P&T/CFT for incorporation of customer feedback about product quality and ensure adherence to the systems

Budget - Identify new models of customer and include them for budgeting; monitor variance between actual and planned new model budget

  • Identify major tooling and fixtures for upcoming models for the respective customer

Start of mass production - Ensure all the counter-measures proposed are incorporated before start of mass production

  • Ensure fitment feedback incorporated permanently
  • Attend vehicle patrolling for ensuring quality confirmation and close monitoring of vehicle during initial control
  • Ensure achievement of design yield and project KPIs during initial control and there are no open points during model transfer
