Job Purpose
The Performance Management Engineer is responsible for analyzing wind turbine operational data to identify areas for performance improvement. This role uses advanced data analytics tools to assess turbine efficiency, power output, and reliability, conducting root cause analysis on performance deviations and implementing corrective actions. The Engineer participates in testing and validation of performance enhancements, such as control system updates and aerodynamic optimizations, and manages SCADA systems to ensure accurate data collection and monitoring. This role also involves supporting predictive maintenance initiatives by analyzing condition-based data and implementing maintenance strategies that reduce downtime. The Performance Management Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to align performance enhancement activities with overall product development goals and contributes to continuous improvement by proposing new methodologies and tools to optimize turbine performance.

Responsibilities
Data Analysis and Performance Monitoring
- Analyze operational data from wind turbines to assess performance against expected benchmarks, including power output, efficiency, and availability.
- Use advanced data analytics software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, R) to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement in turbine performance.
- Conduct performance optimization studies, focusing on areas such as blade aerodynamics, control system tuning, and power curve adjustments.
- Assist in troubleshooting performance issues on-site, using diagnostic tools to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective measures.
- Participate in the testing and validation of performance enhancement initiatives, including prototype testing and field trials.
- Collect and analyze test data to validate improvements, providing feedback to engineering teams for further refinement.
- Manage SCADA systems and other data acquisition tools, ensuring accurate and reliable data collection for performance analysis.
- Set up alarms, thresholds, and monitoring parameters to track key performance indicators in real-time.
- Implement predictive maintenance strategies using data analytics to forecast potential failures and schedule proactive maintenance.
- Monitor condition-based data, such as vibration and temperature readings, to detect early signs of component wear and prevent performance drops.
- Maintain detailed records of performance analysis, tests conducted, and optimization measures implemented.
- Prepare performance reports, highlighting key findings, improvement opportunities, and corrective actions taken.
- Ensure all performance management activities comply with relevant industry standards and internal procedures, maintaining high data integrity and accuracy.
- Support the preparation of compliance documentation for certification and audits.
- Work closely with product improvement, R&D, and operations teams to align performance enhancement activities with overall product development goals.
- Provide technical support and performance insights during the design and testing phases of new turbine components.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay updated on the latest performance optimization techniques and tools.
- Participate in internal training programs and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance skills and contribute to team development.
- Adhere to organizational ethical standards in data handling, analysis, and reporting, ensuring transparency and objectivity in performance assessments.

Educational Background:
