Seeking an accomplished academic leader to join as the Dean – School of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) to drive academic excellence, research innovation, faculty development, and strategic growth of one of our flagship school



Position Overview


The Dean – School of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) will provide strategic, academic, and administrative leadership for the School. The incumbent will be responsible for strengthening academic quality, fostering a culture of research and innovation, building industry partnerships, driving accreditation and rankings, and ensuring outstanding student outcomes

The role requires a visionary leader with a distinguished academic record, proven leadership experience, and a passion for transforming engineering education in alignment with global standards and emerging technologies


Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

  • Provide strategic direction for the School of Computer Science & Engineering.
  • Lead curriculum development in alignment with emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote interdisciplinary learning and innovation across AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, IoT, Robotics, Blockchain, Quantum Computing, and related domains.
  • Ensure excellence in teaching, learning, assessment, and student engagement.
  • Drive continuous curriculum enhancement through Outcome-Based Education (OBE).


Faculty Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, mentor, and retain high-calibre faculty members.
  • Foster a culture of academic excellence, collaboration, innovation, and continuous professional development.
  • Lead faculty performance management, mentoring, and succession planning.
  • Encourage faculty participation in research, consulting, patents, funded projects, and international collaborations.


Research & Innovation

  • Promote high-impact research leading to publications in reputed SCI/Scopus indexed journals and conferences.
  • Facilitate sponsored research projects from government agencies, industry, and international organizations.
  • Strengthen innovation, incubation, entrepreneurship, and technology commercialization initiatives.
  • Encourage patent filing, technology transfer, and startup ecosystem development.


Student Success

  • Enhance student learning outcomes and academic excellence.
  • Promote experiential learning through industry projects, hackathons, coding competitions, research initiatives, and innovation challenges.
  • Support career development, internships, placements, and higher education opportunities.
  • Foster an inclusive, student-centric academic environment.


Industry & Global Partnerships

  • Build strong relationships with leading technology companies, research institutions, and academic partners.
  • Facilitate industry-sponsored laboratories, Centres of Excellence, collaborative research, internships, and executive education programs.
  • Promote international academic collaborations, faculty exchange, joint research, and dual-degree initiatives.


Accreditation & Quality Assurance

  • Lead accreditation initiatives including NBA, NAAC, NIRF, and other national and international quality frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with AICTE, UGC, and statutory regulations.
  • Establish quality benchmarks and continuous improvement mechanisms.


Strategic Planning & Administration

  • Develop and execute the School's strategic plan aligned with the University's vision.
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets and resource allocation.
  • Drive student admissions, academic planning, infrastructure development, and academic governance.
  • Monitor institutional KPIs, rankings, research output, and operational performance.


Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with University leadership, faculty, students, alumni, industry, and government bodies.
  • Represent the School at national and international academic forums, conferences, and professional associations.
  • Strengthen alumni engagement to support mentoring, networking, and institutional growth.


Research & Academic Credentials

  • Strong publication record in reputed international journals and conferences.
  • Significant citations, h-index, and scholarly impact.
  • Proven track record of securing funded research projects.
  • Experience in patent filing, technology transfer, consultancy, and innovation initiatives.
  • Active membership in professional societies such as IEEE, ACM, CSI, or equivalent.


Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of post PhD experience with 3yrs as Associate Professor.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience as Dean, Associate Dean, Director, Head of Department, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading large academic teams and managing multidisciplinary engineering programs.
  • Proven success in accreditation, institutional development, and strategic academic leadership.
  • Experience with international collaborations and research administration is highly desirable.
