Your Role And Responsibilities Position: Data Scientist - Artificial Intelligence Primary Industry: Financial Services (BFSI) Business Unit of IBM: Hybrid Cloud and Data unit IBM Consulting for India & South Asia Seniority of the role will be commensurate with skills and experience. Minimum Educational Background: Bachelor of Computer Science or Maths. Other engineering or science disciplines can be considered if the candidate has demonstrated in-depth working knowledge of the subject area described below. Location: Preferred location in Mumbai. Other locations that are possible are Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai or NCR. The role will involve up to 40% travel in India for client meetings or discussions. This role is responsible for designing and developing full-stack AI-driven automation solutions in banking business analytics and digital banking workflows. Leverage LLMs, SLMs, MCP, and enterprise AI tools to build intelligent automation that enhance productivity, efficiency, and customer experience in banking operations. Role involves end-to-end development?data integration, model orchestration, workflow automation, and deployment?ensuring scalability, security, and compliance within financial environments. Preferred Education Master's Degree Required Technical And Professional Expertise Skills & Qualifications Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, stakeholder communication, and ability to bridge business needs with AI solutions. AI/ML Expertise: Hands-on experience of working with LLMs, SLMs, Multi-Agent/MCP frameworks, and AI workflow orchestration tools. Full Stack Development: Proficiency in Python, Java/Node.js, REST APIs, web frameworks (React/Angular), and microservices. Data & Cloud Platforms: Strong understanding of datalakehouse architectures, SQL/NoSQL databases, and deployment on AWS/Azure/GCP. Automation & Integration: Skilled in building AI-driven automation pipelines, conversational/agentic AI integrations, and productivity tools. DevOps & MLOps: Experience with CI/CD, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), model deployment/monitoring, and AI governance best practices. Security & Compliance: Understanding of data privacy, RBI/financial regulations, and secure AI system deployment. Banking Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with digital banking workflows, business analytics, and compliance/regulatory requirements is desired.
